linguistique.

Lowel Gueou - Bounou :
Bounou is situated at a stone’s throw from Kargue. The villagers say
they are Dogon. Yet their origins remain shrouded in mystery to this
day. They are not historically tied to the Dogon of the Bandiagara
escarpment. Their presence in the area predates the arrival of the
Janage. They speak Bangi Me. Linguists consider it to be a language
isolate. It has no known relationship with any other language. It could
well be that Bangi Me reaches back to an indigenous language spoken
prior to the expansion of the Dogon-Mande. |
