Tintam - région du Bondum (nord-est du plateau) : Tintam est difficile d'accès. Son isolement sur les abords du plateau et son emplacement quasi imprenable peut expliquer pourquoi ses habitants sont restés animistes. Pourtant, au fil des siècles l'architecture du village et son art statuaire ont été fortement influencés par la culture Djennenke, Songhay et Dogon. Tintam a connu une intense activité métallurgique : le fer servait probablement à la fabrication d'outils agraires et armes. Les débouchés commerciaux sur le plateau et dans la plaine avoisinante ne manquaient pas. Aujourd'hui, à la périphérie du village, des monts de scories témoignent de cette ancienne industrie.

Tintam - Bondum region (plateau northeast) : Tintam lies on the plateau in an area difficult of access. Its isolation and nearly impregnable location may explain why its inhabitants remained animist. However, with time passing, the village architecture and its statuary art were deeply influenced by Djennenke, Songhai and Dogon culture. The past intense metallurgical activity of Tintam is evidenced by heaps of treated iron ore and fragments of old furnaces that can still be seen today on the outskirts of the village. These are the remnants of an old flourishing industry : iron was probably used for the manufacturing of arms and agricultural implements. There was no lack in commercial outlets on the plateau and in the neighbouring plains.
